Stairway to Heaven

Stairway to Heaven is a group show featuring some of the artists who participate in Cloud Workshop.

This initiative is an ongoing art project for bereaved children which aims to provide strength, comfort and enrichment through art making, thinking creatively, and the solidarity and company of others in similar boat. It’s focus is to enable a voice for the voiceless, provide a safe and fun place for art making, and acknowledge the huge burden upon the bereaved young person. Cloud Workshop is lead by Deborah Smith, for more information please visit the website here.

Stairway to Heaven has transformed SPA_CE into a veritable tardis as the artists occupy the gallery with a hyper salon install. A profusion of painting, photography, pottery, drawing, weaving, category-blurring, and one small watercolour, from twelve itinerant Auckland artists.

Introducing work by Bronwynne Cornish, Claire McLintock, Deborah Smith, Dexter Murray, Emma McIntyre, Grace Crawshaw-McLean, Harry Were, John Reynolds, Lorraine Smith, Mark Smith, Martin Poppelwell, Nicholas Stevens & Xin Cheng.
