Bronwynne Cornish has been making things from clay for almost fifty years. In 1983 she produced a multi-part ceramic installation titled Dedicated to the Kindness of Mothers. Another key work is Home is where the Heart is (1982). In 2014 a major survey of Cornish’s work between 1982 and 2013, titled ‘Mudlark’, was organised by MTG Hawke’s Bay and also shown at the Gus Fisher Gallery in Auckland. The exhibition showed at The Dowse Art Museum in 2015. For this show at SPA_CE she has made Travelling Temples — ‘Like me, they like to travel. They fit nicely in a pocket or bag. They have no agendas or preferences and are good company’.
