Our next show from Martin Poppelwell presents a series of small tumblers, pots and cups with drawings and a painting.

I have very often felt that drawing is the making of a living thing something that swells, breathes and sits like a poised form - regardless of materials.

Starting with this premise allows me total freedom to make formal and informal shapes and follow where they go.. just like a child being given a lump of clay for the first time.

The initial thing they make is animal.
