It was some 11 years ago that Dick & Martin last worked together, Martin creating pots and Dick decorating them with an array of images from his ‘favourite world of things’. Dick loved the spontaneity and directness of the project and described it as both terrifying and exhilarating, stating it was some of his best work. He has been buzzing ever since.

For this long overdue (and long distance) collaboration Dick has unleashed the same energy on pseudo ceramics of his own - wood instead of clay. With these new paintings of quotidian “things” Dick tests this degree of ‘directness’ again and like the pottery invests the mundane with thought and life… colour.
